
2d Loading of Cells
Direction, magnitude, and frequency of forces are known to be important modifiers of a cell’s response to mechanical stimulation. A 4-point bending instrument has been designed, developed and refined to allow the application of defined loads/deformations to cells in culture.
The forces exerted on cells mimic waveforms, magnitudes and frequencies of biological significance.
The Device can be used to apply controlled strains (in tension) to cell cultures and includes a ‘control’ chamber which mimics the fluid flow generated in the test sample chambers without the direct mechanical deformation of the substrate and cell.
