The Edinburgh based component of the consortium undertakes musculoskeletal regenerative medicine including bone & cartilage repair, tissue engineering, human embryonic & adult stem cell based therapies, and design & manufacture of tissue engineering scaffolds. Extrusion devices are being used to manufacture novel tissue engineering scaffolds based on a range of materials. We are currently undertaking MRC and Geron Corp funded human adult and embryonic stem cell programmes in collaboration with the Roslin Institute.
